The SARIAS Foundation’s first scholar began her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin during the winter semester 2019/2020.
Born in 1999, Seval Doğa Gürcan is a graduate of the Istanbul University State Conservatory who passed the entrance exam at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler with flying colours and is now taught by Annemarie Moorcroft, solo violist in the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
Recommendations from three top-level musicians made her admission an easy decision:
Ruşen Güneş, long-time solo violist in the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, London Philharmonic Orchestra and English Chamber Orchestra
Cem Mansur, conductor of the Turkish State Opera and Ballet, City of Oxford Orchestra, Akbank Chamber Orchestra and the Turkish National Youth Philharmonic Orchestra
Atilla Aldemir, solo violist in the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra
We wish Doğa all the best with her studies in Germany!
